Recycling Recycling efforts in West Chester support the environment in two important ways:
  1. Recycling reduces the impact on our landfills and reduces the demand on limited resources.
  2. Money raised from West Chester recycling is earmarked for West Chester Connections - the development and promotion of walking/biking/jogging routes in the community
Recycling bin locations:
  • Beckett Park, 8650 Beckett Road. Bins are located past the Muhlhauser Barn in Beckett Park (follow signs). The recycling bins are not accessible from the Union Centre Boulevard entrance to the Park.
  • Keehner Park Tennis Court area, 7211 Barret Road
  • The National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting, 8070 Tylersville Rd. Bins are located behind the building and switching station in a fenced area. Bins are only accessible from the Tylersville Road entrance.
Items accepted for recycling at these locations include: paper, plastics, glass, and cardboard.

Recycling etiquette

Please follow the following guidelines when using the recycling bins:
  • Only deposit approved recyclable materials in the bins. Leaving other materials constitutes illegal dumping. Furniture, appliances and other materials are gratefully accepted by Goodwill, Salvation Army and similar organizations.
  • Please make sure the bin lids are closed to ensure trash does not blow out of the bins
  • If bins are full, please do not leave items outside the bins
