Volunteers needed for RASKALS spring clean-up
For some neighbors, spring cleaning would be impossible without a little help.
RASKALS (Random Acts of Simple Kindness Affecting Local Seniors) is now accepting volunteers for its spring clean-up effort on Saturday, May 6. This West Chester Township program provides local senior citizens with much-needed help around their homes at no charge.
Volunteer teams of all sizes are matched with seniors to help them with simple outdoor chores such as cleaning windows, weeding flower beds and other tasks. Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age or accompanied by an adult if younger.
Volunteers should register by Friday, April 21. Teams are coordinated by West Chester Township and team leaders will meet on Wednesday, May 3 to receive their assignments.
Each RASKALS event – one in spring and one in the fall – benefits more than 100 local seniors with hundreds of volunteers offering helping hands. The program helps seniors remain more self-sufficient while developing meaningful relationships between volunteers and their clients.
