Police Department - Community Affairs
The West Chester Police Department Community Affairs Unit is designed to provide community outreach to support law enforcement efforts. The Community Affairs Unit offers educational programs in the community and has many resources available.
The Community Affairs Unit takes a proactive approach to crime prevention by working closely with the community to help prevent and deter crime. The unit develops and administers programs throughout West Chester for the residential and business communities.

Crime Prevention Updates
Neighborhood Watch: With guidance from the Crime Prevention Unit, the program trains members in home security techniques, observation skills, and crime reporting. Residents also learn about the types of crime that affect the area.
"None for Under 21" : The goal of this program is to educate the community on alcohol-related issues, such as underage consumption of alcohol and driving under the influence. This program is geared toward informing our young people on the dangers and penalties for alcohol use.
Identi-Kid: The Crime Prevention Unit provides fingerprint services so families may have complete records of their children's identities.
Bicycle Rodeos: Officers teach safe use of bicycles with emphasis on wearing helmets and following the rules of the road.
Passport to Fishing: This program is offered each year in conjunction with West Chester Parks, to teach children about fishing and educate them on the dangers of drug use. Dates are offered in July. Click here for more information.
