West Chester is one of the largest Townships in the State of Ohio. It is situated in the southeast corner of Butler County, occupying 35 square miles. West Chester's population has increased from 23,553 in 1980 to an estimated 56,500 today.

The Township consists of 22,080 acres with 72.5% zoned residential, 23% zoned industrial, and 4.5% zoned commercial.

West Chester is a Limited Home Rule Township governed by three elected Trustees and an elected Fiscal Officer. Day-to-day operations of the Township are managed by an Administrator appointed by the Trustees.

West Chester has its own Police and Fire Departments.

Mrs. Judith C. Boyko was appointed to the position of Township Administrator by the Board of Trustees at their meeting on January 25th, 2005. Mrs. Boyko serves in a position comparable to a city manager in a non-partisan role. Responsible for managing the daily affairs of the township's various departments, the Administrator works with the Township Trustees and the Township Clerk to develop Township policies, form the township's budget, and ensure quality service to the Township's 60,000 residents and business owners.
