Drug Take-Back Day - CANCELED

  • Date: 04/25/2020 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

UPDATE: Out of an abundance of caution for the health and wellbeing of the community and with guidance from the Ohio Governor’s office regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, this event is canceled. For a list of other canceled and postponed events, check back regularly at www.westchesteroh.org/Home/Components/News/News/2834/16.

Safely dispose of unwanted medications at National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you have any unused prescriptions in your home, please stop by Walgreens located at 7804 Cincinnati-Dayton Road and drop them off – no need to even get out of your car! West Chester Police will be collecting in the parking lot.

Drug Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to toss out unused or expired prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. There are two disposal days each year, one in spring and one in fall.

NEW: Liquids Accepted

Police will now be accepting liquid medications. Liquids must be in their original container with the lid tightly fastened to prevent leaking.

No Sharps

No needles will be collected. Rumpke Waste & Recycling states sharps can be disposed of by placing the needled in a hard plastic container, such as a bleach bottle, then securing the lid and throwing them in your regular TRASH. Please write "SHARPS" on the bottle. (Source: http://ow.ly/KumJ30ovKBh)
