West Chester welcomes assistant administrator
Lisa D. Brown is West Chester Township’s new assistant administrator.
The West Chester Board of Trustees approved a motion to hire Ms. Brown to fill the vacant position at its June 26 meeting. She officially took office July 2 at the annual exempt salary of $83,000.
“I think you’ll find Lisa is going to be a very good addition to the team,” Township Administrator Larry Burks told the Trustees. “She’s very well qualified, she has good experience, and she has a strong background in personnel management which is one of the gaps that we were trying to fill.”
Ms. Brown comes to West Chester from the city of Clayton, Ohio, about 12 miles northwest of Dayton, where she worked for four years as assistant to the city manager and human resource administrator. She received bachelor’s degrees in psychology and Spanish from Wright State University and earned a Master of Public Administration there in 2015.
The assistant administrator position had been vacant since 2005 when former Township Administrator Judi Boyko was promoted from assistant to fill the top spot.
Among her duties Ms. Brown will focus on operations, project management and performance metrics. Ms. Brown was introduced to the business community at the West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance monthly luncheon in July, and she looks forward to meeting residents and community stakeholders.
