Pair of police hires bring 15 years of experience to department
Two new full-time police officers were sworn in at the November 13 meeting of the West Chester Board of Trustees.
Thomas “Shawn” McCreanor and Brandon Bouley were hired to fill vacant positions. The officers join the West Chester Police Department with a combined 15 years of experience and certification through the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.
“These officers have a proven track record of professionalism and commitment, and they will be assets to the West Chester Police Department,” said Police Chief Joel Herzog.
Officer McCreanor brings more than a decade of police experience and training to the department. He was officially hired October 23 and began his service Monday, Nov. 5 at the annual salary of $70, 869.74.
Officer Bouley brings four years of police experience and training with him. His official start date is Monday, Nov. 26 at the annual salary of $63,715.19.
Per a collective bargaining agreement, both officers start at a higher pay grade than new WCPD recruits because of their prior police experience and training.
