West Chester asks residents to take community survey
West Chester Township is asking residents to participate in The National Citizen Survey™.
Gaining input from community stakeholders is an emphasis of the 2019-2020 Strategic Plan put forth in December 2018 to guide Township operations and set priorities and initiatives in order to remain competitive, sustainable and marketable over the coming two years. The National Citizen Survey™ is a component of one of six goals outlined in the Strategic Plan to increase citizen engagement.
"Included in our 2019-2020 Strategic Plan is Sub Goal 3.2 to determine future community needs and expectations. I can think of no better statistically valid way of learning those expectations from our township," said Administrator Larry D. Burks.
The West Chester Board of Trustees entered into an agreement with the National Research Center, Inc. of Boulder, Colo. on April 9, 2019, to conduct and report the results of the community survey. The survey is designed to:
- provide a baseline of how local government is serving residents;
- gauge perceptions of West Chester; and,
- make comparisons with peer municipalities.
The National Citizen Survey™ includes questions about quality of life in the community, local policies, demographics, ratings of local government services and resident use of services.
Take the survey
All residents of West Chester are eligible to participate. The survey is available online: http://bit.ly/westchester2019
(IMPORTANT: Please only complete the digital version of the survey if you did not receive a version of the survey in the mail.)
Costs associated with implementing The National Citizen Survey™ were offset by a Local Impact Grant in the amount of $8,500 presented to West Chester Township by the Duke Energy Foundation specifically for this initiative.
Watch the grant presentation from the April 9, 2019, meeting of the Board of Trustees (starts at 05:59).
