Board appoints BZA and Zoning Commission members
The West Chester Board of Trustees voted Tuesday, Feb. 25 to fill an expired term on the Board of Zoning Appeals and an expired term on the Zoning Commission.
Mr. Doug Rinnert was re-appointed to fill the expired regular term on the Zoning Commission. The five-year term is effective June 1, 2020 through May 31, 2025. Mr. Rinnert has served on the Zoning Commission since 2001. He is a West Chester business owner and is a long-time West Chester resident.
Mr. Barry Riddell was re-appointed to fill the expired regular term on the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) for a period of five years (March 1, 2020 through February 28, 2025). Mr. Riddell began his tenure on BZA in March 2015. Mr. Riddell is a long-time West Chester resident.
The volunteers who serve on West Chester Township’s Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals play an important role in the future of the community.
The responsibilities of the Zoning Commission are described in Article 7 of the West Chester Township Zoning Resolution, and generally involve the review of requests for Zone Changes, Preliminary and Final Development Plans.
The responsibilities of the BZA are described in Article 8 of the West Chester Township Zoning Resolution and generally involve the review of requests for variances, special exceptions, conditional uses, administrative appeals, and interpretations of the Zoning Resolution.
