Beckett Road to close April 29 for three months
The Butler County Engineer's Office (BCEO) will close a portion of Beckett Road, between Union Centre Boulevard and Beckett Ridge Boulevard, for a drainage improvement project beginning Wednesday, April 29. The project will include the installation of a storm sewer, curb and gutter along the east side of the road. Beckett Road will remain closed to all through traffic with a reopen date tentatively scheduled the week of July 20.
The work and the closure will also impact access to the pedestrian pathway in this stretch.
The BCEO and West Chester Township have worked collaboratively on this $1.4 million project to address drainage issues along Beckett Road. West Chester Township received $157,000 in grant funding from the Butler County Storm Water District to offset costs of water quality components included in the project. The remainder of the funding will come from Tax Increment Financing funds.
The official detour (click for map) for the project is: Northbound Beckett Road traffic will detour west on Union Centre Boulevard, north on S.R. 747, and east on Smith Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.
