West Chester Township has named Jeff Uckotter as its next Director of Community Development. He brings extensive experience in Township government, including planning, zoning, budget management, and economic development leadership.
The appointment was made official by the Board of Township Trustees at the April 28 public meeting. “This is a pivotal moment for West Chester Township, as we are trying to foster economic vitality while maintaining an exceptional quality of life for our residents,” said Ann Becker, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “Our community development team will help chart a strategic path forward and plan for the future.”
Uckotter most recently served as Planning and Zoning Administrator for Sycamore Township. He previously worked as Township Administrator for Batavia Township, as well as Township Planner for Miami Township in Clermont County.
“Jeff brings a wealth of experience in economic development and township government operations to the team, and we are thrilled to have him,” said Township Administrator Lisa Brown. “We have several critical projects underway, such as our Mill Creek District and the Union Centre Boulevard Corridor Study, which will benefit from his expertise and leadership.”
The Mill Creek District is planned for approximately 75 acres of Township-owned property near Interstate 75 and Union Centre Boulevard. Early concepts for the site include mixed use development, employment space, retail, dining, entertainment and nearly 20 acres of public green space along the Mill Creek corridor.
West Chester Township has also selected MKSK, a Columbus-based land use planning and urban design firm, to lead a corridor study for Union Centre Boulevard between Cincinnati-Dayton Road and State Route 747. The study is expected to evaluate future development, redevelopment, infrastructure capacity and zoning needs in the corridor.
