Gas Program Locks Up New, Lower Rate

Group purchasing power has allowed West Chester Township to lock in new natural gas rates that are lower and will remain fixed for the next year. Starting with the November 2026 billing cycle and running through October of 2027, AEP Energy will provide gas service to eligible residents for $0.5378 per 100 cubic feet.

This rate represents a 17 percent decrease from current gas aggregation rate of $0.6499. Residents currently participating in the Township's Natural Gas Aggregation Program will automatically transition to the new rate unless they choose to opt out.

Opt-out letters will be mailed to eligible accounts in mid- to late August and will include instructions for those who wish to decline participation or have questions about the program.
