The Fire Department offers training to individuals and local businesses in a wide variety of subjects, but we are most commonly asked to assist a business with becoming CPR certified, either to meet regulations required for that company or merely for the benefit of its employees. West Chester's CPR program covers different levels of certification so that we can best meet your specific needs or those of your organization.
All of the CPR classes offered by the West Chester Fire Department follow the American Heart Association guidelines and upon completion, all participants will receive a certification card from the AHA stating they have successfully completed an AHA course and are certified to that level of CPR for which they received training. The certification is good for two years from the date of completion of the training. It is recommended that CPR be reviewed every year, and that re-certification is done every two years. The cost listed for each course includes the necessary workbook, the certification card and any printed materials for the class, as well as the cost for the instructor.
The West Chester Fire Department prides itself on assisting local businesses with their training needs. CPR classes are conducted at the Fire Department Headquarters’ training facility. Scheduling is flexible, courses can be scheduled for any time and any weekday, weekends are limited. In order to efficiently conduct a class, please provide at least four students per class and no more than 9 students. Multiple classes may need to be scheduled for larger groups.
