West Chester Township does not trap or manage wildlife populations on private property. West Chester Community Services Department only employs wildlife management strategies as it relates to geese on public property.

How do I report issues with my neighbors' dog or stray domesticated animals?
West Chester does not have its own animal warden.
If a neighborhood pet is causing a disruption, police encourage neighbors to work together first to find a solution. Dogs barking will fall under the Township's Barking Dog Ordinance, Resolution No. 91-20. This ordinance states, no person shall keep or harbor any dog within West Chester Township which by frequent and habitual barking, howling or yelping, creates unreasonably loud and disturbing noises of such a character, intensity and duration as to disturb the peace and quiet of any person in the Township. Any person who allows any dog habitually to remain or be lodged or fed within any dwelling, building, yard or enclosure, which said person owns or occupied shall be considered to be harboring such dog. Whoever violates this resolution is guilty of a minor misdemeanor subject to the penalty provided in Ohio Revised Code Section 955.99 (I).
Stray animals should be reported to the 24-hour non-emergency police numbers (513) 777-2231 and contact will be made with the Butler County Animal Warden.

Please contact the West Chester Police Department Crime Tip Line at (513) 759-7272. During normal business hours, the phone will be answered by a detective. A voicemail message can be left after hours and on holidays. If it is an emergency please call 911.

What is the most convenient way for me to make public records requests through the police department?
The easiest way to request a public record is by email at publicrecords@WestChesterOH.org. Please include the report number if known, and the associated name of the complainant and or victim in the report. It may take 72 hours for an accident report or offense report to be completely processed before release and we appreciate your patience. Requests will be promptly answered and returned.
Do you offer fingerprinting services? If so, what are the requirements, fees, and times available?
The West Chester Police Department provides fingerprinting services free of charge, by appointment only, to residents of our community and to those who work at West Chester Township businesses. Appointments may be scheduled by calling the Central Records Section at (513) 759-7261. Please bring fingerprint card(s) with all information completed (black ink only) and photo identification to your appointment. For electronic fingerprints, contact the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Central Records Unit at (513) 785-1030 for more information.
Is there a charge for photocopies of police reports?
Photocopies up to 25 pages will be provided free of charge. If the requested report is larger than 25 pages the fee for each photocopy is 5 cents beginning with the first photocopy. The charge for two-sided photocopies is 10 cents per sheet.
Do you email reports?
Yes, we can send reports by email, fax, regular mail, or they may be picked up in person at the West Chester Police Department Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
How long does it take to get my report?
Every report must be completed and thoroughly reviewed before it is available for public release. The approval process generally takes one to two days, however it may take longer depending on scheduling. All requests for reports will be completed as promptly as possible.
