West Chester voters elect a Fiscal Officer every four years. The Fiscal Officer is responsible for keeping the Township's records, oversees and safeguards township funds, and works to ensure funds are managed responsibly. The position offers a system of checks and balances.

Bruce Jones was first elected Fiscal Officer in 2012.
Bruce considers himself as a watchdog over taxpayer money and has worked with the Township's leadership to earn the Auditor of State Award with Distinction for excellence in recordkeeping multiple times throughout his years in office.
Bruce has deep roots in West Chester: He grew up in West Chester (formerly known as Union Township) and attended Union Elementary, the son of Elizabeth and Charles Jones, a former state representative and senator for West Chester and surrounding counties. After graduating from Miami University, Bruce stayed in Butler County, developing a balanced working career in both the private and public sectors. He and his wife, Patty, returned to West Chester in 1997 to continue raising their two daughters, Devyn and Lauren, both Lakota West and Miami University graduates.
Bruce serves on the Butler County Planning Commission as Chairman, the Butler County Township Association as Vice-President, formerly served on the Butler County Transportation Improvement District (TID), as well as numerous other civic and community organizations, but most cherishes his role as your Fiscal Officer and public servant.
