Muhlhauser Barn Dos and Don'ts

Thank you for hosting your event at the Muhlhauser Barn. Below are a few reminders including some “do’s and don’t's” to make your event enjoyable and to ensure the next renter enjoys the same benefits.

Reminders

Per the terms of your signed Muhlhauser Barn Use Agreement, weekend reservations begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at midnight (weekends).
Renters are responsible for all “set-up” including tables and chairs.
The Township assumes no duty of supervision in the provision of alcoholic beverages and the applicant agrees to hold the Township, it’s agents and employees, harmless, fully indemnify and assumes any and all host liability or other liability to guests, invitees, relatives, friends or third parties who may be injured directly and proximately by the provision of alcoholic beverages, of any sort whatsoever, whether for profit, not for profit, or purely such reasons whether the same result from intoxication or are contributed to by intoxication.
Alcohol is only permitted to be served to guests or attendees of the event. Underage consumption of alcohol is prohibited.
All tables and chairs provided must remain inside the facility. The deck is outside of the facility.
Renters are responsible for all rental items brought into the facility.
Open and close windows and doors to warm or cool facility. Please secure the facility at the end of your event or when you are not on site.
Renters are responsible for unlocking and locking all outside doors.
Renters are responsible for all event staff entry/exit.
All grills must be used in the circle area of the driveway.
All vehicles MUST stay on hard surfaces. NO VEHICLES may use the front sidewalk for unloading/loading.
Decorations may not be attached, hung or supported by beams.
Do not stand on tables, chairs or beams at anytime. Beams are more than 200 years old and not easily replaced.
Do not use any staples, nails, glue, tape or similar items on any surface, including but not limited to furniture, walls, beams, doors and floors.
Ceiling fans and inside lights are operated by dimmer switches located on the east side interior wall, near the main entrance of the facility.

Do's

Dispose of all trash inside, on the deck area, and in kitchenette.
Dispose of all trash from outside grounds, including parking lot area.
Empty all trash into the on-site dumpster.
Remove all decorations from inside, deck, and outside areas.
Take all rented items with you. There is no on-site storage, and the facility may be rented by another party the following day.
Take all personal items with you.
Close and lock all windows.
Turn off the fireplace, ceiling fans, and all inside lights (orange glow indicates lights are still on).
Close and lock all outside doors. There are two on the deck, one on the side, and one front door.
Overnight parking must be in overflow lot by the dumpster only. Please leave contact information visible in driver’s side dash.
Return the key to the Administration Building, 9113 Cincinnati Dayton Road, the following business day.

Don't's

Do NOT replace liners in trash receptacles.
Do NOT stack chairs or tables. You must leave the event site “set up” as you found it for other renters, who may have the facility rented for tomorrow.
Do NOT sweep or mop floors, unless there is excessive mess.
Do NOT return to event site the following day. If you do, you may be charged for an additional day's rental.
Do NOT clog the sinks or overwhelm the garbage disposal. If you do and we have to send a maintenance person out to fix the sink, you will forfeit your deposit.
